Avalon - I just read that several marines are in trouble for 'hazing' a recruit who eventually committed suicide. They are also investigating the hazing of new DI's by senior DI's. While I mourn the recruit's death, suicides during basic training are not unheard of. While care needs to be taken to weed out those recruits who may be suicidal, that should not change the pattern of conduct which has successfully produced warriors for many generations. The so-called 'hazing' is part of what has toughened and built the people who have kept all of you safe for many years now.
