Avalon - I cringe whenever I hear those talking heads blabber about Britain or Israel as being our closest allies in the world. Who would argue that the sovereign nation of Canada has always had our backs in any crisis, from the 1979 Iran crisis up to today, our closest, most intimate neighbor and friend, but universally overlooked and under appreciated in Washington.
