Avalon - I agree 100% with the spouter who says that it is not hard to remove asbestos shingles whole. I have done it, 3 times on 3 different houses, & it is not at all difficult. Anyone who breaks asbestos is 1) just not trying, 2) in a hurry for money, 3)contaminating the entire area because the friable loose asbestos dust blows all over that jobsite & all of the surrounding homes in the neighborhood, & keeps resurfacing with winds & 4) breaking the law. By the time a call is made to Trenton, & they respond, the culprits are gone: this is why the building departments MUST permit, instruct, inspect!
