Avalon - To he who believes the NRA "opposes every effort to keep guns out of the hands of those who should not have them": Nothing could be further from the truth. While the NRA does work to protect attempts by misguided politicians and PACS to infringe on the rights of law-abiding citizens, it also supports common sense laws directed at denying or removing firearms from the hands of criminals and the mentally unfit element in our country. As for "the ease with which guns can be obtained" it is much harder to obtain a firearm today than it was prior to 1968 when federal laws created many new hurdles.
