Avalon - Give us a break with the injured seagull, will you? Animals die, sometimes violent and painful deaths, in the wild. Once upon a time, people in this country recognized and appreciated animals for what they are, and did not try to anthropromorphize everything from our dogs and cats to seagulls and rabbits. If left long enough, the crows and turkey buzzards would eat the remains of the gull. As nasty as that is, that is what happens in nature. It is not a government problem, but it is just nicer when they clean up the carrion from the highways.
