Avalon - Extending Rt. 55 is a foolish notion. Building new highways inevitably has one result: it generates development along the route of the highway. More development inevitably means more traffic on the highway, including commercial vehicles, until in due course the highway loses its purpose and becomes little more than a very expensive pseudo-parking lot. The Blue Route in Pennsylvania is an excellent example.
