Avalon - Environmental experts get paid $130,000 to study Armacost Park and come up with recommendations. Birding experts, with nothing to gain financially, present an opposing view on what is best for the birds; they say vines and understory promote habitats for resident birds, much needed food for migratory birds and a critical alternative nesting option. Parks are for people; a sanctuary/ refuge is for birds, but birds can't pay experts to put forth their agenda. When the birds are gone, it will be a sterile, manicured park worthy of a golf course community. Is that really what we need or want?
