Avalon - The emoluments clause in the Constitution prohibits presidents from profiting from their business interests while they are in office. The clause addresses the concern that a president might put personal financial gain above the welfare of the country. Every president before Trump has obeyed that restriction. Trump has put his businesses in a trust, but the trust is managed by his sons, and Trump draws money from it, in violation of the Constitution. That alone justifies his impeachment.
