Avalon - The CEOs of the corporations in the 10 biggest U.S. merger deals this year will rake in a combined estimated $430 million in "golden parachute" payments, according to a study by pay-tracking firm Equilar. It would take the typical American household 830 years of work to get what the average CEO will receive in one fell swoop. If corporate taxes are too high, how can corporations afford to pay these CEOs such excessive and extravagant amounts of money, and how can they afford to pay CEOs, on average, 300 times what the average worker makes, compared to 30 times a few decades ago? It's obscene.
