Avalon - In a bit of supreme irony, the Coal Museum in Benham, Ky. has switched to solar power to cut costs and save energy. Unfortunately for coal miners, Trump's vow to help them is an empty promise based on ignorance of the energy issue. Coal has had its day, not because of clean-air regulations that protect us from harmful emissions from coal-powered plants. Especially susceptible to such pollution are senior citizens, asthmatic children, and anyone with certain chronic, debilitating diseases. The reason coal is losing is that power plants are increasingly using cheaper natural gas.
