Avalon - Avalon used to be the lovely place from my childhood. Where you could take a flashlight down to the beach at night to find ghost crabs and marvel at the night sky. It was a place where, if you were lucky, you could take your children to see those very same things. But now the beaches will be closed at night and the Council once again plans to back pass sand to the failing north-end beaches, destroying the ecosystem near the Fishing Pier. One is a necessity because of crime, the other is ignorance of the delicate balance of living things on the beach. Let the Council know how you feel.
