Avalon - Avalon fire sirens sent out a warning blast Nov. 21 at about 9:50 p.m., followed by a very frightening announcement to seek higher ground immediately. On calling 911, all they would say was that it had been "a technical glitch." I'm not an alarmist, but this was a frightening moment, and somehow Avalon should have used the emergency system to stand down from the first emergency announcement.
