Avalon - The argument is that Trump committed no wrongdoing in the Flynn investigation because he did not order Comey to "let go" of the investigation; he "hoped" that Comey would do so. That argument misses an important and critical point: Trump is ignorant of the role of president of the United States, but he is not so dumb that he would blatantly say to Comey, "I order you to let go of the Flynn investigation." When a person says he or she hopes for something, the person quite obviously, indisputably, wants that thing. So hoping that Comey would let go is the same as wanting him to do that.
