Those who blame Obama for higher gas prices simply don't know what they're talking about. In today's world, fossil fuel products are sold on an international market, to the highest bidder. No U.S. president has the power to determine or control the demand of other countries for refined oil products, or how much they are willing to pay for them. European countries and developing countries like China are willing to pay more, while in the U.S., too many people have the misguided notion that we have a birthright to cheap gas.
