There are lots of smart, well read people who have a limited, formal education. People with a drive for knowledge and information can be found in the ivy halls of academia or the work-a-day world, even here in Cape May Co. But one thing that Spout Off reveals is the frightening number of under-educated, misinformed people we have in our society. The internet does not provide truth or enlightenment and popular opinion is not always right. Ignorance has become its own reward on our society and will usher in our ultimate downfall, not unlike the great empires of years past.
