The suggestion that homeless cats be allowed to starve is cruel and inhumane. And it would not be nature taking its course, it would be humans denying help to creatures in need through no fault of their own. Furthermore, the cats would not simply lie down and starve. They'd be roaming about the borough looking for food, getting into garbage, killing birds, and getting into fights in competition for food, in an effort to survive. And possibly spreading disease because they'd be weak and undernourished, and susceptible to disease. Homeless cats are the result of irresponsible human beings.
