Avalon / Stone Harbor - I was driving through town recently and saw a company's vehicle driving past with a trailer that had trash blowing out everywhere. Nothing on the trailer was secured. It also looked like they were picking up pieces of bulk trash. Companies like this should not be allowed to do work on the island. They should be fined for all of the litter. Plus, isn’t it against the law to pick up bulk trash?

Moderator's Note:
According to a Herald article, "Municipal ordinances state that once the items are at the curb they belong to the municipality and those who drive by seeking curbside treasures do so illegally." According to that same article, "Stone Harbor Borough Council discussed changes to the ordinances that would allow individuals to retrieve items curbside within 72 hours of a scheduled bulk pickup date." However, no formal action has been taken. See story: http://bit.ly/2JUrDKi
