Avalon / Stone Harbor - Having read the recent spouts about St. Brendan's parish on Seven Mile Island, I am dismayed at what seems to be a significant impasse. The Diocese was forced to make administrative changes resulting in the merger of many parishes in recent years. Fortunately, Seven Mile Island did not lose any churches; the communities remain somewhat intact. What disturbs me is the failure of the pastor to realize that there was already a good, strong congregation in place, and that change just for the sake of change is never welcome. It is just as disturbing that Spout Off has become the forum for grievances.
