The spouter who said, "the people of Avalon think that there are more than enough hotels in just the right place," should speak for himself. I live on 21st Street, within three blocks of the hotel site. I'd bet my fellow Avalonian is somewhere more distant from the planned hotel site. Those who vote against the hotel, I think, can safely be called hypocrites. If we vote down the hotel, then we should pass a law that says no one, for residential or commercial use, may have variances or even build something larger than what currently occupies the site now. That would truly preserve Avalon!
