Avalon spouter regarding lice in schools. It was once school policy to send home students that had lice and they could not return until the problem was resolved. But in the past ten years the CDC and AAP decided that students with lice could stay in school and not be sent home and they can return the next day after being treated. Policy changed due to minimal risk to other students, exclusion disrupts learning, financial burden for parents, and effectiveness of treatments. Personally as an educator I feel students should be sent home and kept home until they are lice/nit-free.
