Avalon

Speak up at the Avalon council meeting Feb. 11 to stop the planned destruction of Armacost Park. Birds flock to the native vines and berries, but the borough wants to "balance" the environment in the nature preserve by removing dead trees and weed whacking vines. Why manicure and maintain a robust wildlife habitat? Nature is cyclical; vines and dead trees offer food and shelter. Keep noisy, toxic, mechanized equipment out of Armacost Park and let nature take its course. We have enough hyper-maintained public space on our barrier islands.
