Republicans in the House have passed a bill they facetiously call the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act. Our voting system doesn't need safeguarding. It already exists, as was proven by the 2020 presidential election. 60-some judges, including some appointed by Trump, confirmed that when they rejected every claim by Trump's lawyers that the election was stolen. This bill has nothing to do with voting integrity; it is a bill that will deny the vote to: older people in assisted care facilities; people of color; and military service members because they can't meet the bill's requirements.
