Interesting that someone mentioned the C7 Caribou aircraft at the County Airport. I flew many protective missions guarding these aircraft as they dropped support to the Hmong and Montagnard Allies in Vietnam. These people were instrumental to the US, and were abandoned as well at the cessation of US involvement. Those Caribou dropped all manner of support from food to ammo. I hope someone does a story. Those birds saw a lot of action. Our pilots were really brave, and good with that machine.
