If members of the Council, Planning and Zoning boards are clearly evaluating any proposed zoning changes via the overlay, they should realize that a boutique hotel will not change the seasonable businesses shutting at time of the year. The developer is clearly the only group benefiting if this proceeds. I’m awaiting the economic impact analysis (both benefits and associated support costs) that was discussed as the next steps in the process; 50 to 60 rooms can’t be that significant. The beauty of our community is that we get to enjoy quiet time after the summer rush - let’s keep it that way!
