I would like to preface this post with fact that I love to see the island buzzing with summer energy and kids riding around on their bikes however I am concerned for their safety as I am noticing that bikes are assuming the right of way on Dune Drive which tends to get very busy on weekends. This morning I was driving (slowly), approaching 25th street and light turned green (north/south) but a young girl on a bike shot across the intersection with out looking (with a red light). I worry that a driver going a bit faster would have not seen her. Please be careful out there!
