As I drove north on Dune Drive in Avalon, I was literally heartbroken. From 30th Street up to the circle the new construction has removed the shore charm of my town. Multi use, multistory buildings with not even a nod to the old shore community loom over the island. Charm is what drew me to Avalon, not commercial properties. Does the counsel not have enough revenue already? Is the Planning and Zoning commission tone deaf to what the people prefer? The only thing constant is change…I know. But for God sake, step back and stop destroying this town.
