Hire borough workers to do trash and recycling collection. The men who work for the private firms are all very nice, and competent workers, but the system Avalon has been using is outdated. As some other towns do, the cans should remain on the side of the homes, and one worker should slide the cans out just ahead of the truck crew, and one worker should slide the cans back to the same side yard receptacle location from were they came. It only requires two more laborers for three days. Let this be our New Year's resolution!
