In a democracy, it is not good to have political dynasties, because as a recent AP column mentioned, then politics is dominated by a few select bloodlines. So true. In Avalon, we have had the same mayor and a council of the same basic people, who are all of the same party, for 24 years. Mark Twain once mused that politicians are like diapers. They should be changed regularly and for the same reasons. Stone Harbor has had many changes, and as a result has better code enforcement, zoning enforcement and services, like side-yard trash collection and less tax dollars wasted!
