Contrary to what an Avalon spouter thinks, the Canadians do not have our backs. They stayed out of Vietnam, which was their prerogative, then sheltered our draft dodgers and allowed the shipment of medical supplies to North Vietnam, as if anyone would be so foolish to believe they ended up in the hands of non-combatants. One does not have to agree with the war in Vietnam to realize that giving aid and comfort to our enemies was not having our back. With a population only about 10 percent of ours, their greatest value is still as a physical barrier to Russian invasion, as in the Cold War.
