A Cape May Spouter is "locked and loaded" because he or she fears criminals among illegal immigrants. The Spouter's fears are misplaced and unfounded. The crime rate among illegal immigrants is insignificant compared to the crime rate among American-born citizens. The domestic crime rate is largely the result of the epidemic of gun violence, an epidemic fueled by gun-rights organizations and individuals that make it too easy for the "bad guys" to get guns. Those organizations and individuals then hypocritically tell us we need guns to protect ourselves from the "bad guys".
