Avalon

Borough is removing the top 3 feet of sand from 32nd to 38th streets beaches and moving it to the north end. The ocean water now goes significantly closer to the dunes at high tide where they have removed the sand (35th-36th streets) versus the untouched areas. If you live in this area (32nd-38th streets), at high tide you may have to go to the north end to use the beach this summer. The Borough is in a tough spot, as they risk ruining a great beach to save the chronically-depleted north end.
