America Changed Forever The adage “no one is above the law” no longer applies to the president. In our constitutional system, the president was never intended to be a king. That was the entire rationale for the Revolutionary War. And yet, coming three days before July Fourth, the court granted sweeping immunity to the executive. The damage the court has wrought to the very fabric of our democracy is profound. A sad day for a once proud nation.
