With all the spouts for and against the proposed hotel in Avalon, no one sees the real problem. The whole town is disintegrating as a community. How many young families are moving there? How many borough employees live there? How many children are in the school? What is the average age of year-round residents? Even in the summer, many of the multi-million dollar McMansions sit empty Monday to Friday. The days where ordinary people could afford to live in Avalon are gone, and soon it will be so expensive that ordinary people can't even vacation there. A multi-story hotel won't fix that problem.
