To all Avalon residents: Upgrades in electric service was most likely needed but to say you like the new look of these ugly towering poles versus the clean alternative look of underground wiring is absurd. Yes, the cost would have been higher but we, residents should have been given the ability to see the estimates and cost differential. This is a major impact on the town and should have been brought up in a voting proposition to all homeowners who pay taxes. Look what beach replenishment costs are on an ongoing annual basis. Town officials and planning board need to take appropriate action.
