According to the Center For Disease Control, deaths from the flu in the U.S. have averaged, at most, 5,000 a year over the last ten years. 80,000 Americans have died from the coronavirus in a matter of months. On an annual basis, that would be 200,000 to 250,000 deaths , at a minimum, 40 to 50 times the death rate from the flu. There's no comparison between the flu and the coronavirus. Arguing that we should respond to the coronavirus in the same way we respond to the flu is simply incorrect and irresponsible.
