You now have to pay to view obituaries?!?

Charging to read obituaries has been a longstanding practice for paid newspapers; it is a new practice for the Herald. Even so, users may read all obituaries without payment or registration by clicking on the Obituaries button on our navigation menu or here: www.capemaycountyherald.com/community/obituaries, or in a free print copy. To access individual obituaries pages requires registration (two free views per month) or subscription (unlimited views). In print and online, the Herald offers the most comprehensive collection of obituaries and death notices for Cape May County. This service requires a level of effort by our staff, which merits compensation.
