Anthropic’s CEO called for a slowdown of artificial intelligence development to allow safety measures to catch up. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk and the former head of Google’s AI unit Demis Hassabis have ALL endorsed this call for a slowdown. And yet our government insist it move forward with no guardrails. Have we not all seen some horror movie that starts with an old newspaper blowing down the street with those exact kinds of headlines? We really need to put some safety restrictions in place while we still can!
