A recent letter to the editor regarding the dune project failed to mention the project is part of a bigger project to protect the Jersey Shore from hurricanes. Congress approved funding for the project in its current form. There is no option to just do North Wildwood without congressional action and good luck with that. Without it, the Crest beach will be a half mile wide in the not too distant future. Not an easy walk for families with small children. The money will be redirected to other towns that participated to maintain their beaches and our flood insurance will go through the roof.
