Avalon - An Avalon spouter repeats an incorrect claim that prayer has been banished in public schools. It is true that organized, mandated, group, teacher-led prayer is no longer allowed. That's because public schools are not schools for those of the Christian faith. They may no more show favoritism to Christian children than they may show favoritism to children of one sex, or favoritism to children of one skin color. It's also true that any child may pray at any time in school, to themselves, as the Bible dictates: "But when you pray, go into your room, close the door, and pray to your Father."
