Cape May - The behavior of a certain council member at the Aug. 15 Cape May City Council meeting was beyond rude and immature. A member of the public commented orally and with written materials about a valid concern over the mayor's involvement with a lawsuit, and this council person dramatically ripped up the materials in front of everyone (and on camera) after the speaker finished. I have never seen such open hostility shown to a respected member of the public speaking about an important issue. This council member needs to grow up, and he owes the speaker and the taxpayers a public apology.
