Middle Township - I'd like to know how someone who works for the school district during the day can come in during the evening and work the few nights and not be paid time and a half. You're working over eight hours a day and why are you not paid time and a half? I'm just wondering why. Other businesses have to pay time and a half for over eight hours, why aren't the schools doing it?
Moderator's Note:
According to the U.S. Department of Labor, "For covered, nonexempt employees, the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) requires overtime pay (PDF) to be at least one and one-half times an employee's regular rate of pay after 40 hours of work in a workweek."
