Wildwood - A study that came out several years ago about Cape May County emergency dispatch reported that many dispatch centers, "PSAPS," didn't like the idea of consolidating into one centralized center because dispatchers would not be familiar with the local area. Have they not heard of CAD and GPS? Dispatchers don't have to know every nook and cranny, their job is to get information, and disperse to local authorities. A fire chief, police officer, or any other emergency personnel should know the local area. I can't believe a reluctance behind using GPS is the culprit for having inefficient dispatch.
