Erma - If the public knew how much teacher tenure laws hurt students and cost the taxpayers, they would be praising efforts to revamp them. The NJEA is wasting too much effort and ineffective teachers are spending too much time trying to save their jobs, rather than working to become effective educators. Also, why do school districts insist on putting their surplus teachers in a classroom with another teacher, rather than downsizing and saving considerable money for the taxpayer, like at our local high school.
