Wildwood - Most of the volunteer firefighters on the island work for either the city or themselves. The city would allow them to go and fight the fire if there were one. And being self-employed would also allow them time to go and fight a fire. There are no excuses. There are plenty of volunteers available in Wildwood. Just drive by the firehouses on drill night. The mindset of those involved in the fire departments is making things unsafe for the taxpayers. And yes, I used to volunteer, until it became unsafe.
