Based on the current salary range for this position, it would cost each household roughly $50 a year in taxes to hire four part-time constables. Of course, if the committee were to roll up its sleeves and seek public safety grant money, this cost could be even less. This is a tremendous bang for the buck to have dedicated patrols in our neighborhoods to assist the few and far between state police patrols not specifically answering calls.
