Lower Township - Obama pushed through a Congressional Gold Medal award to the Puerto Rican 65th Infantry Regiment, primarily because it was a segregated unit and will win him votes. This is a regiment that had a stain on its record when, during the Korean War, it deserted en mass in the face of the enemy. It is not the intent to insult Puerto Rican soldiers, several who served under me were outstanding individuals and many more I knew to be top of the line people. My beef is the manner in which Obama will exploit a group to advance his own political career and does not do his homework.
