Wildwood Crest - The official unemployment number is based on the civilian labor force. It does not include children, retired, disabled, housewives/husbands, students, and yes, those who have given up looking. There are other unemployment numbers that are tracked that do include some of the above but the fact is all the unemployment numbers have gone down during the Obama administration. Why do you think the stock market is at an all-time high? Sure, you can take a single demographic in a single area and say it went up but that is true with any statistic. The economy is good.
