Wildwood - The cases were dropped against the police officers in Baltimore because they could not be convicted of the crimes charged. They were "not guilty." The implication that there is a flaw in the criminal justice system because of that is ludicrous. Our system requires that the prosecution convince the trier of the fact (judge or jury) that the defendant is guilty, beyond a reasonable doubt. That could not be done in this case. Like so many other recent cases, the police are being convicted in the court of public opinion, while being vindicated by facts in the real courts.
