West Wildwood - On possibly the hottest day of the year so far, July 23, somebody directed West Wildwood Public Works Dept. to open fire hydrants on Poplar Ave. This caused water in homes along Poplar Ave. to become rusty. No advanced warning was given to homeowners. This meant no drinking water, no showers, no clothes washing, no dishwashing, no ice if you have an ice maker, etc. Why would they do this? When I asked a worker he said, "Somebody complained their water was rusty so we had to open up the hydrants." They need to give advance warning if they are going to do that again.
