Why doesn’t the North Wildwood- Wildwood boardwalk have distance

Rio Grande - Why doesn’t the North Wildwood- Wildwood boardwalk have distances marked on the poles or on the concrete part of the boardwalk. Who is in charge of the boardwalk? Maybe they could give the walkers, runners, bikers an idea how long it is. Ocean City, NJ and Ocean City, Maryland both have them marked every quarter mile.
